Virginia Gurtner
Virginia B. Gurtner, 92, St. Marys, died at 5:45 a.m. June 3, 2010, at St. Marys Living Center.
She was born July 30, 1917, in Richmond, Ind., to Walter and Grace Ross Sowers. On Aug. 29, 1939, she married Meredith L. Gurtner, who died may 16, 1984.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Mike) Bowers, St. Marys; a son, D. Todd Gurtner, Summerville, S.C.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, George and Allan Engle.
She was a homemaker and a 1935 graduate of Union City Community High School in Union City, Ind. She attended Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Dayton.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service, St. Marys, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.
