The $1.78 million U.S. 33 bridge replacement is finished and the roadway is open for traffic ahead of schedule. Ohio Department of Transportation officials estimated the concrete structure spanning state Route 29 in St. Marys would be completed by July 31. After four months of construction, all eastbound and westbound lanes were opened for traffic Thursday afternoon. The full project, which includes seeding, patching and cleanup, is scheduled for completion by Aug. 31. No further traffic rerouting is expected.
