Ruth Neeper
Ruth J. VanDemark Neeper, 88, Lima, died at 5 p.m. July 18, 2010, at The Ridge at Shawnee in Lima.
She was born May 17, 1922, in Columbus Grove, to David Byron and Alma Basinger VanDemark. On July 21, 1950, she married Joseph W. Neeper, who died Aug. 22, 2000.
Surviving is a daughter, Johanna (Steven) Muether, Celina; three sons, David Neeper, Cridersville, Michael (Kimberly) Neeper, Wapakoneta, and Mark Neeper, Elida; two brothers, Paul (Rita) VanDemark, Holmes Beach, Fla., and William Van Demark, Cincinnati; five sisters-in-law, Bert Wright, Wapakoneta, Edna Thornton, Tromball, Texas, Evelyn Bowman and Jesse Neeper, both of Lima, and Jeanne Neeper, Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a 1940 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at Triplett in Bluffton and Westinghouse in Lima. She was also a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton and attended Lima Baptist Temple.
Funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Shawnee Chapel Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Home, the Rev. Gary Hohman officiating. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
