Boy Scouts honored
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard

New Bremen Postmaster Cindy Platfoot places a commemorative stamp and postmark on a letter for local Boy Scout Adrian Speelman during a first day issue ceremony Tuesday afternoon at New Bremen American Legion Post 241. The stamp commemorates the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts. Local resident Curt Brookhart addressed the gathering as Lord Baden Powell, who founded the Scouting program. Similar ceremonies also took place Tuesday throughout the United States.
