Ruth Barhorst
Ruth M. Barhorst, 73, Fort Loramie, died Sept. 11, 2010, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
She was born May 1, 1937, in Maria Stein to Edward and Olivia Brunswick Bergman. On Oct. 6, 1956, she married John L. Barhorst, who died Sept. 29, 1995.
Surviving are four sons, Bill (Cindy) Barhorst, Fort Loramie, Joe Barhorst, Minster, Eric (Corrine) Barhorst, Lakeview, and Ron (Suttan) Barhorst, Fort Loramie; two siblings, Joan Eilerman, Fort Loramie, and Pat (Jim) Winner, Minster; six in-laws, Ernie Philpot, New Bremen, Mike (Mary Jo) Barhorst, Fort Loramie, Norman (Janet) Barhorst, Fort Loramie, Sam (Patty) Barhorst, Celina, Nelson Barhorst, Fort Loramie, and Kathy (Bud) Link, Celina; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, David Barhorst; and four siblings and in-laws, Mary Evelyn and Floyd Swagman, Henry and Betty Bergman, Walter Bergman, Dorothy and Henry Boeckman, Don Eilerman and Ann Barhorst.
She attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie and was a member of the St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and the Minster Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Minster High School in 1955 and was a homemaker.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials can be made to the Shelby County Relay for Life.
