Taking down jail walls
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard

Workers with Hume Supply of Lima demolish the former Mercer County Jail across from the county courthouse in Celina on Thursday. The facility was vacated in February when the new, 110-bed facility officially opened along state Route 29, west of Celina. The vacant lot will be used for county employee parking. The demolition work is funded through a Community Development Block Grant/Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant.
