GRAND LAKE - Grand Lake St. Marys State Park will receive a new dredge this spring to speed sediment removal activities on the 13,500-acre lake.
Assistant park manager Brian Miller said the state park has two dredges. The oldest is a 1968 model that has been repaired numerous times, he told a crowd at a meeting about lake cleanup efforts Wednesday night at Wright State University-Lake Campus. [More]

MONTEZUMA - Naturalist Tom Bain plans to show participants a new world when he leads a night hike through Gilliland Nature Sanctuary on Saturday.

Division II Volleyball Sectional at Lima Senior

LIMA - Wapakoneta head coach Keith Rambin knew his team was in for a battle against Auglaize County rival St. Marys in the first game of the Division II volleyball sectional at Lima Senior on Wednesday night.
Rambin was certainly right and the Redskins accomplished something for the first time all season while edging the Roughriders - 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 25-17 and 15-12 - to advance to Saturday's sectional final. [More]

ST. MARYS - Auglaize County voters will see a five-year, 1-mill renewal levy on the Nov. 2 election ballot that will enable the Auglaize County Council on Aging to continue providing services for elderly citizens.
A passenger in an SUV was injured after the vehicle collided with a Waynesfield Goshen Local School bus on Wednesday afternoon in Auglaize County.
No injuries were reported by the bus driver, Debra A. Boday, 52, of Waynesfield, or the undisclosed number of students aboard.
