Local veterans stand at ease during Thursday's Veterans Day ceremony held in Celina's Lakeshore Park. In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed Nov. 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day following the end of World War I. About 80 people attended Thursday's ceremony.
