Police investigate Celina man's death

By Margie Wuebker
CELINA - Celina Police continue to investigate the possibility that drugs played a factor in the Thursday death of a 24-year-old man.
Travis M. Stump, 121 N. Brandon Ave., was pronounced dead shortly after his housemate Nathan Kidder called 911 at 5:58 p.m.
Kidder reportedly came home and did not see Stump, who moved in several weeks ago. After calling and getting no response, he forced open a bedroom door and found Stump kneeling beside the bed.
"At this point we consider this a suspicious death that may involve drugs or a drug overdose," Chief Dave Slusser told The Daily Standard. "There were no signs of injury and no signs of violence."
The bedroom door had been locked from the inside and officers seized drug paraphernalia found inside the home.
Celina paramedics transported the body to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater at the request of Mercer County Coroner Dr. Timothy Heinrichs. The body was later taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office in Dayton for autopsy.
Slusser said toxicology tests will detect the presence of drugs, with the reports expected in six weeks.
