* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity combined with very warm low temperatures can be especially hazardous as the overnight hours provide little relief from the heat. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Roscoe Smith
Roscoe S. Smith, 71, Sidney, died at 10:47 p.m. March 7, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born May 13, 1939, in Hominy Falls, W. Va., to Luther and Clarie Pearl Stull Smith. He married Ruby Boone Smith of Celina. He then married Nancy Rier, who is deceased. His third wife, Anna King Russell, survives in Texas.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol J. Knotts, Groveport, and Tammy Smith, Houston; nine stepchildren, Bonnie Dirckson, Tennessee, Lynnette Werling, Tennessee, Jeannette Bowling, Sidney, Kathy Napier, Sidney, Lonnie Werling, Sidney, Pam Lecky, Sidney, Cindi Blevins, Kentucky, Angie Blevins, Lima, Chet Blevins, Lima; four sisters, Patty (Johnny) Hinkle, South Carolina, Arlene (Roger) Hinkle, South Carolina, Barbara (Leonard) Dobbs, Sidney, Ollie Trent, Washington; a brother, Jerome (Drema) Smith, N.C.; a sister-in-law, June Smith, West Virginia; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Also deceased are two sons, Jimmy Smith, Charles (Marsha) Smith; a stepdaughter, Erie Thomas; a brother, James Smith; and a brother-in-law, Frank Trent.
He worked as a coal miner in West Virginia and retired from Garrett-Howell Foundry in Sidney in 1989. He was a former member of the Calvary Chapel Church in Minster.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
