Mark Heinfeld
Mark E. Heinfeld, 88, New Bremen, died at 1:28 p.m. April 29, 2011 at Community Health Professionals Van Wert Hospice Center.
He was born March 26, 1923, in New Bremen, to Edward and Emma Dicke Heinfeld. On Dec. 6, 1952, he married Mary Kathryn Dietz, who died July 20, 2009.
Surviving are his children, David (Deborah) Heinfeld, New Bremen, Duane (Carol) Heinfeld, New Bremen, Darlene (Patrick) Prenger, Dayton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Deceased is a brother, Hubert Heinfeld.
He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ Church, New Bremen, and a 1941 graduate of Dallas Technical HighSchool, Dallas.
He was a tool and die maker at Minster Machine Corporation and the former Stamco in New Bremen, where he worked more than 21 years. He was owner/operator of New Concepts Manufacturing, New Bremen, and had retired from Apollo JVS, Lima, where he taught machine trades.
From 1948-1953, he was a Mercury Outboard Motor dealer and raced 10-foot kneeboard outboard motor hydroplanes on Grand Lake.
He was a member of American Legion Post 241, New Bremen, and a charter member of Mercer B.P.O Elks Lodge 2170.
Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the church memorial fund or to the annual Bremenfest Fishing Derby.
Gilbert-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, is handling arrangements.
