Herbert Huber
Herbert R. "Pete" Huber, 81, North Star, died at 12:35 a.m. May 2, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
He was born June 20, 1929, in Fort Loramie to Frank H. and Hedwig Schulze Huber. On March 3, 1962, he married Dorothy Ann Bertke, who died Jan. 31, 1994.
Surviving are a daughter, Angela (Harvey) Becraft, North Star; a son, Keith (Cathy) Huber, North Star; eight siblings, Rita Stammen, Fort Recovery, Ruth (Carl) Stammen, Burkettsville, Dorothy Barga, North Star, Mildred Siefring, Coldwater, Paul (Barb) Huber, North Star, Betty (Tony) Feltz, St. Henry, Frank (Diane) Huber, North Star, and Louis (Jane) Huber, Versailles; four in-laws, Lavern Rindler, Burkettsville, Helen Bertke, Celina, Wilma Bruns, Celina, and Juanita Rose, Englewood; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Norb Huber; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Virgil Schoenlein; a sister, Dolores Rindler; in-laws, Melvin Stammen, Othor Barga, Elmer Siefring, Clarence Bertke, Carl and Ludwina Bertke, Al Bruns and Herman Rose.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star, North Star American Legion and Korean War Veterans in Piqua. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.
He retired from the Mersman Plant in Celina after 43 years of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
