Harold Stuck
Harold J. Stuck, 91, Versailles, died May 11, 2011, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 24, 1919, near North Star to Carl and Bertha Rismiller Stuck. On July 4, 1947, he married Evelyn Shiverdecker, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marlene McGriff, Greenville, and Shirley (Donald) Kingery and Jeanette Taylor, Carlsbad, Calif.; a son, Carl (Donna) Stuck, Versailles; brothers, Elmer Stuck, Versailles, and Rev. John (Barbara) Stuck, Fort Wayne, Ind.; in-laws, Ken Shiverdecker and Margaret Shiverdecker; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Rev. Werner Stuck; two sisters, Edith Brandt and Caroline Isenhouer; in-laws, Edith Stuck, Ruth Stuck, Wilma Routson, Janet Shiverdecker, Richard Shiverdecker and Paul Routson.
A lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Star, he served as deacon and trustee. He was a farmer, clerk of Wabash Township and employed by Darke County Highway Department. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and served in the European Theater where he attained the rank of tech sergeant.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, Rev. Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville.
