...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette IN, Franklin IN, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union IN, and Wayne. In Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union OH, and Warren. * Through Thursday evening * Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous this afternoon and especially into the evening and overnight. Given extremely saturated soils and rivers and streams already running high, the potential for flash flooding is particularly high. Any storm could bring rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, and rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible over the next couple of days.

'Embracing the stitch- Fabric Chronicles'

"Embracing the Stitch - Fabric Chronicles" is on exhibit in the Hugh N. Ronald Gallery at Arts Place, Portland, Ind., through June 30. Professional quilt artist Cathy Jeffers of Centerville has received many awards and had her work published in books and magazines. She uses collage for her art quilts, layering commercial and hand-dyed fabrics to create depth and quality. The gallery, located at 131 E. Walnut St., is open Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 2-5 p.m.
