The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Jerome Meyer
Jerome J. Meyer, 72, Sidney, died at 1:05 p.m. May 26, 2011, at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering.
He was born April 18, 1939, in Willowdell, to Frank and Frances (Homan) Meyer. On May 30, 1963, he married Connie Rethman, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Steve (Margie) Meyer, Fort Loramie, Tom (Mindy) Meyer, Carroll, Sandy (Paul) Brennan, Chicago, Patti and (Bob) Durbin, Brookston, Ind., Becky (Ron) Hoffman, West Chester, and Barb (Joe) Gillming, Cincinnati; three brothers, Al Meyer, Russia, Carl (Linda) Meyer, Versailles, Paul (May Jean) Meyer, Versailles, and a sister-in-law, Alma Meyer, Ft. Loramie; and 19 grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Irene Meyer, and two brothers, Louis and Herman Meyer.
He graduated from Russia High School in 1957 and Miami-Jacobs Junior College in Dayton. He was a partner and a CPA with Monnier and Company Accounting, Sidney, for 25 years and owned and operated Yeasel, Inc. in Lewistown. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
