* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Some patchy freezing fog through daybreak is possible on bridges and elevated roadways.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning.
* IMPACTS...Significant visibility reductions to near zero at times will necessitate extra caution for commuters through late morning. Temperatures below freezing in some areas will increase the threat for icy patches on elevated roadways.

Richard Meiring
Richard J. Meiring, 92, Fort Recovery, died at 8:40 a.m. June 20, 2011, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born March 13, 1919, in Sharpsburg to Wesley and Philomena Guggenbiller Meiring. On June 20, 1946, he married Mary Helen McConaha Meiring, who survives. He died on the couple's 65th wedding anniversary.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard (Barbara) Meiring, Starkville, Miss., and Robert (Karen) Meiring, Fort Recovery; a sister, Delores (Don) Kahlig, Sharpsburg; two sisters-in-law, Jean Meiring, Sharpsburg, and Sue McConaha, Decatur, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Jerry McConaha, Versailles; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Herb and Tom Meiring; and a sister, Merilda Dues.
He was a former deputy sheriff of Mercer County and retired as sales manager for Hull Brothers, Fort Recovery. He served with the Third Army under the command of General George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge and received five battle stars including the Bronze Star.
He was president of the former Fort Recovery Banking Company board of directors and was previously vice president of the Second National Bank board of directors in Greenville. He served on the Fort Recovery Village Council and was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion Post 345.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. Thomas Dorn and Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where graveside military honors will be conducted by the local American Legion.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
