During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Jeff Severns, electric distribution superintendent for the city of Celina, opens a panel on a voltage regulator at the new substation near Havemann Road this morning. The new substation is expected to be online Friday, as a heat wave continues to grip the area. One of the two new electrical transformers can be seen in the background.
