G.M. Alspaugh
G.M. Alspaugh, 85, of Celina, died at 9 p.m. July 19, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Willshire, to Arnold and Ruah Clouse Alspaugh. On Jan. 11, 1948, he married Bonnie Burke, who is deceased.
Surviving are four sons, Albert (Dayle) Alspaugh, Rockford, Terry (Beth) Alspaugh, Decatur, Ind., Mark (Rhonda) Alspaugh, Celina, and Todd (Melissa) Alspaugh, Greenville; two sisters, Ruth Dunlap, of Florida, and Joy Steele, Decatur; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Peggy Alspaugh; and a brother, Eben Alspaugh.
He was a self-employed plasterer in the Rockford and Willshire areas and had worked at Decatur Industries. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses congregation of Celina, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of the former Willshire High School.
Services are 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Rockford Village Community Center at Shane's Park, with David Burden officiating.
Contributions may be made to the Jehovah's Witnesses Celina congregation.
