Very strong wind gusts and dry soil is leading to areas of blowing dust across the area. This is causing visibility to be reduced to one mile or less in localized area.
Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibility. Slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
As winds slowly decrease late this afternoon into the evening, blowing dust should diminish.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Helen Barhorst
Helen M. Barhorst, 91, Minster, died Aug. 6, 2011, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 25, 1920, in Fort Loramie to Joseph and Bernadine Drees Henke. On Jan. 3, 1945, she married Delbert F. Barhorst, who died Sept. 11, 2002.
Surviving are children, Wanda Barhorst, Minster, and Gerald (Linda) Barhorst, Versailles; and four grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings, Chris, August, William, Julius, Bernard and Leo Henke, Anna Mescher, Agnes Knapke and Bernadine Gariety.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and the Fort Loramie American Legion Auxiliary. She worked at Fort Loramie schools and retired from Coldway Foods Exp. She was a noted water dowser.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is in the St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
