At top, portions of the historic Miami-Erie Canal in Minster are shrouded by trees and brush in this 2010 file photo. On the bottom, a differernt portion of the canal sports a clean, open look in the wake of a two-phase ditch project. The area in the bottom photo, at the intersection of state Route 119 and Canal Road, will see further work in 2012 with the installation of more riprap and a possible walking trail.
