Flames shoot from the Nick Greer residence at 9422 state Route 118, Rockford, on Tuesday night. Family members reportedly noticed smoke and called 911 at 10:07 p.m. Thirty firefighters and five trucks from Rockford, Mendon and Chattanooga responded. Rockford Fire Chief Rob Belna said the roof and attic sustained heavy damage, and smoke and fire damage were evident throughout the home. No one was injured. An investigation into the cause is continuing with assistance from the state fire marshal's office. Firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 1 a.m. and the family is reportedly staying with relatives.
