Bernard Muhlenkamp
Bernard "Ben" Muhlenkamp, 84, Coldwater, died at 4:06 a.m. Dec. 23, 2011, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Trinity, Ind., to Herbert and Asella Miller Muhlenkamp. On May 12, 1956, he married Kathleen Staugler, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Jeff Muhlenkamp, Coldwater, Jeanine (Mark) Bensman, Ft. Loramie, Jim Muhlenkamp, Cincinnati, and Julie (Rick) Heyne, Coldwater; two sisters, Pauline Hess, Coldwater, and Dorothy (Louie) Hoyng, Celina; two brothers, Lavern Muhlenkamp, Coldwater, and Gerald (Eileen) Muhlenkamp, Celina; three brothers-in-law, Alvin Saintignon, Celina, Ernie (Rita) Staugler, Coldwater, and Clarence Staugler, Coldwater; and six sisters-in-law, Josephine Muhlenkamp, Rockford, Irene Meinerding, Wapakoneta, Joan Staugler, Coldwater, Germaine Steinbrunner, Montezuma, Carolyn Staugler, Montezuma, and Joan Mescher, Celina; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Mary Ann Saintignon; a brother, Robert Muhlenkamp; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Linie Schoen, Paul Hess, Pat Muhlenkamp, Ralph Meinerding, Tony Steinbrunner, Ernestine Staugler, Lillian Staugler, Mary Catherine Staugler, Paul Staugler, Irene Staugler, Bill Staugler, Charles Staugler, Bob Staugler, Ralph Mescher, Herbert Staugler and Margie Staugler.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, American Legion #470, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5135 and Eagles Lodge #3025, all in Coldwater.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
