Periods of light snow will occur this evening and through the overnight. While accumulating snow is expected to end before Thursday morning, falling temperatures and light snow accumulations of one to two inches will result in slick travel tonight and early Thursday.
Slick spots can be expected on roadways, especially bridges and overpasses. If traveling, allow for some extra time to reach your destination and be prepared for wintery driving conditions.
In addition to the snowfall, falling temperatures combined with increased winds will result in feels-like temperatures near zero Thursday morning. If heading outdoors, dress in multiple layers.

Marilyn Helmer
Marilyn Ann Helmer, 77, Rockford, died at 2:45 p.m. Dec. 30, 2011, at Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Rockford, to Floyd and Alta Fisher Buck.
She married Thomas Helmer, who died in 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Miller, Celina, and Camille (Dr. Frank) Farone, New Castle, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ohio Historical Society, National Archives in Washington, D.C., Ohio Genealogical Society chapters in Mercer, Holmes and Tuscararawas counties.
She was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church and had attended church at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Celina.
There will be no calling or service.
