Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Judy Gross
Judy Kay Gross, 62, Wapakoneta, died at 5:44 a.m. Jan. 30, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Lima to Woodrow and Onolee Miller Piehl.
Surviving are sons, Darrel Gross, Wapakoneta, and James (Amanda) Gross, Wapakoneta; a stepdaughter, Melinda (Rod) Ritchie, Wapakoneta; siblings, Stephen (Diana) Piehl, Cincinnati, William (Diane) Piehl, New Knoxville, Fred (Diane) Piehl, New Knoxville, and Julie (Mike) Pine, Columbia City, Ind; a granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was a 1969 graduate of New Knoxville High School, a homemaker and a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday in the Heritage Room of the church, the Rev. Chuck Moeller officiating. Private family burial will be held at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Friday in the Heritage Room.
Memorials may be made to the radio broadcast fund of the church or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Arrangements are being handled by Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville. Condolences may be left at millerfuneralhomes.net.
