The "wind splitter" was built by Sebastian Ranly and Dr. J.A. Schirack, owners of the Twentieth Century Storm Buggy Co. The business leased the former Bany Washing Machine factory on St. Henry's West Main Street in 1910 and later moved to Fort Recovery in 1916.
