The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 900 AM EDT.
* At 606 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, New Bremen, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Neptune, Carthagena, Bulkhead, State Route 116 at State Route 197, Chattanooga and Kossuth.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Ohio, including the following counties, in central Ohio, Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison and Union. In west central Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move across parts of the area this morning, possibly extending into early afternoon. This may result in bands of heavier rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.

Norma Purpus
Norma J. Purpus, 85, Minster, died at 6:11 a.m. July 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Minster to Julius and Nora Ritter Woehrmyer. On April 12, 1947, she married Theodore "Ted" Purpus, who died Oct. 20, 2007.
Surviving are three children, Nancy (Tim) Jay, Don Purpus and Jay (Renee) Purpus, all of Minster; her adopted family, Jeff (Ruth) Bitler and their children, Minster; a brother-in-law, Thomas Purpus, Anderson, Ind., and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Lyndel Belcher, and siblings and their spouses, Russell and Irma Woehrmyer, Earl and Phyllis Woehrmyer and Vera and Harold Dorsten.
She was a founding member of the F.J. Stallo Library Board and had been named Minster Athletic Booster of the Year. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she was a lay communion distributor, lector and CCD teacher, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, St. Monica Rosary-Altar Sodality, the historical society and Ladies Bridge Marathon, all of Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9 -9:30 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
