* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Northwestern Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* WHEN...Until 1045 PM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 421 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area, with numerous roads remaining closed due to high water. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, New Bremen, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Neptune, Carthagena, Bulkhead, State Route 116 at State Route 197, Chattanooga and Kossuth.

Laverta Scheer
Laverta E.W. Scheer, 94, formerly of New Bremen, died at 10:18 p.m. July 19, 2012, at Otterbein Lifestyle Choices, St. Marys.
She was born June 5, 1918, in Shelby County, to Herbert and Lizzie Melter Fischbach. On Nov. 1, 1939, she married Howard Scheer, who died Nov. 1, 1997.
Survivors are her children, Judy (Wayne) Wiehe, Celina, Donald (Barbara) Scheer, New Bremen, and Alfred (Pam) Scheer, St. Marys; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Deceased are a granddaughter; a sister, Madella Frey; and an infant brother.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, where she was active in the Sunday school program and teaching, and formerly served as a Sunday school superintendent. She also was a member of the church's Busy 12 and the Woodman of the World Camp 149, New Bremen. A 1936 graduate of New Bremen High School, she was a homemaker and along with her husband was a caretaker of the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen, for 26 years.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
