During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Rex Laffin
Former St. Marys resident Rex Alan Laffin, 60, Naples, Fla., died July 14, 2012.
He was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Celina, to Orville and Maxine Goodwin Laffin.
Surviving are two children, Kelly (Dave) Kiefer and Erik Laffin, all of St. Marys; five siblings, Connie (Harold) Nance, Cincinnati, Bill (Beverly) Laffin, Wapakoneta, Karen (Billy) Smith and Rebecca Matthews, all of Naples, and Kim Laffin, Lima; and four grandchildren.
A 1970 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys and a graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital School of Radiology in Cincinnati, he had worked in orthopedic surgery in Naples. He later worked as lead mechanic at Royal Poinciana Golf Course, Naples.
Local memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are pending at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
