Mary Ann Nieberding
Mary Ann Nieberding, 85, Versailles, died at 12:18 a.m. July 26, 2012, at Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born July 13, 1927, in North Star to Aloys and Odilia Bruggeman Niekamp.
Surviving are her children, Nancy (Bub) Bomholt, Maria Stein, Keith (Suzanne) Nieberding, Leo, Ind., David (Ruta) Nieberding, Delta, Katherine York, Gettysburg, Jane Plants, Berea, Ky., and Bill (Nancy) Nieberding, Columbus; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Niekamp, Rossburg, and Alice "Sarie" Niekamp, Osgood; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Victor Niekamp and Orville Niekamp.
She retired after many years of service as the senior volunteer program director for the Council on Rural Services. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and the Business & Professional Women's Club. She volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity, State of the Heart Hospice and Darke County Center for the Arts.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Revs. David Zink and Rick Nieberding co-celebrating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
