Maurice Stammen
Maurice J. Stammen, 80, New Bremen, died at 1:31 p.m. Aug. 13 at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born July 3, 1932, in New Weston, to Norbert and Frances Westgerdes Stammen. On July 4, 1957, he married Joan Hamberg, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Laura Sudhoff, Fort Recovery, and Dolores Robbins, Celina, and a brother, Harold (Irene) Stammen, New Bremen.
Deceased are twin siblings, Marion and Maryann Stammen.
He retired as a machinist at the former STAMCO plant in New Bremen and was a self-employed plumber. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, American Legion Post 241 and the Rod and Gun Club, all of New Bremen. He had attended Fort Recovery High School.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
