Robert Muhlenkamp
Robert J. (Bob) Muhlenkamp, 83, Portland, Ind., died Aug. 1, 2012, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Fort Recovery, to Alfons and Alvina (Krieg) Muhlenkamp. On Feb. 14, 1953, he married Rosella (Sally) Westgerdes, who survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Deb (Keith) Foltz, Geneva, Ind., Bev (Ron) Tschannen, Portland, Darlene (Bill) Gelhaus, St. Henry, Nancy (Randy) Tumbusch, St. Henry, Karen (Mike) Welsch, Fort Recovery, and Tina (Tony) Grote, Ft. Jennings; four sons, Steve (Mary Jo) Muhlenkamp, Dennis (Theresa) Muhlenkamp, Carl (Laurie) Muhlenkamp and Leon (Linda) Muhlenkamp, all of Portland; five sisters, Jean Bruns, Chickasaw, Dorothy Brockman, Fort Recovery, Lorrie (Charlie) Froning, St. Henry, and Lucy (Don) Beckstedt and Carol (Dale) Laux, both of Celina; four brothers, Dale Muhlenkamp, Tustin, Calif., Mark (Joan) Muhlenkamp, Coldwater, Roger (Donna) Muhlenkamp, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Ron (Carol) Muhlenkamp, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Sue Muhlenkamp, Coldwater; 41 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Jane Muhlenkamp, two infant grandsons; a daughter-in-law, Carol Muhlenkamp; a brother, Richard (Dick) Muhlenkamp; a sister-in-law, Gayle Muhlenkamp; and two brothers-in-law, Ivo Bruns and Lavern Brockman.
He was a retired farmer and 1946 graduate of Coldwater High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion, Most Holy Trinity Catholic church, Bryant, Ind., and the St. Joseph's Men's society of the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
