The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 700 AM EDT.
* At 309 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, Coldwater, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Carthagena, Neptune, Chattanooga and Maria Stein.

Betty Mottinger
Betty Jean Mottinger, 78, Ohio City, died at 4:30 a.m. Sept. 6, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Van Wert, to Francis and Vivian Jerome Anderson.
On March 19, 1955, she married Richard C. Mottinger, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Richard E. "Dick" Mottinger, Ohio City, David L. Mottinger, Indianapolis, Ind., and Nancy K. Brown, Van Wert; a brother, James (Helen) Anderson, Van Wert; a sister, Janice Roesner, Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Shirley Partin, Van Wert; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Donna J. Kiracofe; a brother, Dean Anderson; and a sister, Barbara Anderson Bowman.
She was a 1951 graduate of Van Wert High School and retired from Kennedy Manufacturing, Van Wert.
She was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Anthony Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 2-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the church or the American Cancer Society.
