Carol Stuber
Carol M. Stuber, 80, New Knoxville, died at 5:42 p.m. Dec. 6, 2012, in the emergency department at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Nov. 27, 1932, in Bellefontaine, to James and Eunice Weatherby Downing. On Nov. 19, 1949, she married Arthur P. Stuber, who died March 24, 1995.
Surviving are five children, Arthur (Joan) Stuber Jr., Champaign, Ill., Janet (Thomas) Jackson, Wapakoneta, Tamara (Ed) Lovett, Sidney, Catherine Stettler, New Knoxville, and Scott Stuber, Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are three brothers, John Downing, James Downing Jr. and Leonard Downing; 10 sisters, Nellie Brown, Iva Lou Pitcock, Sharon Dickinson, Vera Gammell, Margaret Goldsberry, Marie Downing, Clara Jean Penny, Olive Downing, Sandra Downing and Wilma Brewer; and a son-in-law, Randy Stettler.
She was a homemaker and a member of American Legion Post #96 Auxiliary, Lima. She attended First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
Funeral rites are 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
A funeral dinner for family and friends is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville, is handling arrangements.
