Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Velone Bricker
Velone L. Bricker, 94, formerly of Rockford, died at 5:25 a.m. Dec. 20, 2012, at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen.
She was born March 9, 1918, in Liberty Township to Ezra and Nellie Gray Laffin. On March 29, 1941, she married Lowell Stanley Bricker, who died June 17, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith (Larry) Coppess, Minster, and Joyce Miller, Fon Du Lac, Wis.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are brother-in-law, Kahl Bricker, a sister-in-law, Madonna Bricker; a son-in-law, David Miller; a stepson, Steven Miller; and a granddaughter.
She was a homemaker and was active in the Rockford United Methodist Church and the Rockford Evangelical United Brethren Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, taught vacation Bible school and served as Christian Personhood chairman.
She also was a member of the Rockford Parent Teacher Association, Rockford Band Boosters and local mistral shows and helped at bloodmobiles and with the migrant teaching program. She worked many years at the House of Fashion, Celina, and the Fashion Tree, Van Wert.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Gary Hohman Officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Grand Lake Hospice or to television station WTLW-Channel 44, Lima.
