Betty Lou Amey
Betty Lou Davis Amey, 80, passed away Jan. 8, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Clarksburg, W.V., but resided in Celina and Defiance for the bulk of her life.
Surviving are her San Antonio family, three grandchildren, Brink Davis Amey, Maxwell Travis Amey and Hannah Rae Amey, and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Amey. Other surviving family members includes three nephews, Brad Myers (Steve Rowlands), Doug (Deb) Myers and Bill (Sheryl) Davis; three great-nieces and their families, Toby and Brad Carpenter (Tatem, Finley), Lindsay and Kevin Hinshaw (Taylor, Max), and Ashley Myers and fiancé, Paul Kaczmarczyk; and a number of cousins, extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Niles Brink Amey; son, Niles Travis Amey; and siblings, Marty Jo (Davis) Wise, Lawrence M. Davis, Jr. and Jeanette (Davis) Myers.
She was a member of many local organizations and a recognized local artist in Defiance. She resided in San Antonio from August 2011 to present.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at Zion's Lutheran Church, Defiance, the Rev. Timothy G. Reynolds officiating.
