Dewaine E. Byerley, 78, St. Marys, died at 3:35 p.m. Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.

He was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Celina to William A. and Florence M. Cook Byerley, who are deceased. On Nov. 10, 1956, he married Shirley "Shirt" Klosterman in St. Marys, and she died Sept. 7, 2008.

Surviving are a son, Michael (Barbara) Byerley of Middleburg, Fla.; a daughter, Beth (Steve) Reciniti of Oak Ridge, N.C.; two grandchildren, Greg Byerley of Middleburg, Fla., and Ashley Powers of Oak Ridge, N.C.; and a brother, William Baker of Celina.

He graduated in 1953 from Celina High School. He was retired as a truck driver for Duff Truck Lines, Lima. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 767 in St. Marys and Moose Lodge 1473 in Celina. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Private funeral rites for the family were held.

A public memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. John Dodds officiant.

Calling is one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
