Carl Dirksen
Carl C. Dirksen, 72, Celina, died at 5:15 a.m. May 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Osgood, to August and Henrietta Stucke Dirksen. On June 13, 1964, he married Mary Stelzer, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dave (Carrie) Dirksen, Beavercreek, and Dan (Amy) Dirksen, Celina; a sister, Barb (Jack) Gels, Dayton; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Dirksen, Osgood, and Geri Dirksen, Skokie, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Ethan and Kira Dirksen.
Two brothers, Paul and Donald Dirksen, are deceased.
He graduated from St. John High School in Maria Stein and St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Ind., served in the National Guard and was employed at Celina Insurance Group for 30 years. He retired from Cox Insurance Agency in Greenville in 2006.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, where he was a Eucharistic minister, an adult server and a finance committee member. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Council 1800 and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 210, all of Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Ken Schnipke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday and before 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina.
