Very strong wind gusts and dry soil is leading to areas of blowing dust across the area. This is causing visibility to be reduced to one mile or less in localized area.
Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibility. Slow down and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
As winds slowly decrease late this afternoon into the evening, blowing dust should diminish.

Patricia Neargarder
Patricia "Patty" Ann Elliot Neargarder, 85, died May 10, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Wapakoneta, to Richard Aloysius and Anna Adelia Fisher Elliot. On May 17, 1948, she married George L. Neargarder, who survives in St. Marys.
She is also survived by her children, Janet (Bob) Bassitt of Wapakoneta, James (Sylvia) Neargarder of Garland, Texas, Paula (Doug) Saintignon of Beavercreek, George R. Neargarder of Arlington, Texas, Stephen (Tricia) Neargarder of Wapakoneta, and Dr. Sandra Neargarder of Lakeville, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jim (Ginny) Elliot of Kettering, Jack (Rita) Elliot of Tempe, Ariz., and Deane (Phyllis) Elliot and Joe (Marlene) Elliot, all of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Schaub; two brothers, Bill and Thomas Elliot; a daughter-in-law, Robin Neargarder; and a grandson, Cody Neargarder.
She graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1945. She was a bookkeeper, employed part time with the St. Marys Bookkeeping Company and 66 Motor Inc. She was a very dedicated wife and mother, staying home full time to raise her six children. In 1978, once her children were all in school, she was employed as a full-time secretary of Holy Rosary School in St. Marys. Starting in 1981, she served as secretary and bookkeeper to Fr. Leo Hoying at Holy Rosary Church in St. Marys, St. Remy Church in Russia, St. Denis Church in Versailles and Holy Family Church in Frenchtown. Her dedication to the church was admirable. She served on a number of church committees and was a past member of the Holy Rosary Church Choir.
She played multiple musical instruments and had a beautiful singing voice. Her other hobbies included gardening, putting together jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Memorial gifts may be given to Friends of Holy Rosary.
