Programs, some busing cut; pay to participate to begin

ST. MARYS - Cuts in programs and personnel to save the district about $1.5 million will be implemented for next school year due to the failure of a recent levy.
The elimination of the vocational agriculture program, implementation of pay to participate and the reduction of at least one teacher and several building secretaries are among actions approved by board of education members meeting in special session Tuesday. [More]

VERSAILLES - Marion Local's girls and Minster's boys have the early leads in the team title races after the first day of the Midwest Athletic Conference track meet on Tuesday.
The Lady Flyers are in first thus far with 61 points with Minster (52 1/2), Coldwater (36 5/6) and Versailles (36 1/3) following closely. Versailles has won the MAC the last eight years. [More]
