The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 700 AM EDT.
* At 309 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, Coldwater, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Carthagena, Neptune, Chattanooga and Maria Stein.

Ruth Krieg
Ruth M. "Granny" Krieg, 84, New Bremen, died at 1:50 p.m. May 14, 2013, at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1929, in St. Henry, to Bernard and Marie Uhlenhake Hummel. She married Lionel Krieg on Jan. 31, 1948, and he died Sept. 17, 2005.
She is survived by her children, Harold (Doris) Krieg of New Bremen, Pat Wilson of New Bremen, Jean (Ron) Olberding of Minster, Don (Dot) Krieg of Wapakoneta, Larry (Sue) Krieg of Greencastle, Ind., Marlene (John) Long of St. Marys and Marvin Krieg of New Bremen; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen (Bud) McEvoy of Cincinnati; and a brother, Don (Joan) Hummel of St. Henry.
She was preceded in death by a son, Karl Krieg; a daughter, Cindy Krieg; a granddaughter, Mary Krieg; and a son-in-law, Joe Wilson.
She was a graduate of St. Henry High School. She was a farm wife and had cooked for weddings for many years and made wedding cakes. She was a member of the Minster Eagles Auxiliary and New Bremen American Legion Post 241 Auxiliary. Her whole life was dedicated to caring for her family and working on the farm. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, the Rev. Ken Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorials may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
