Kurt Piper
Kurt Eldon Piper, 73, Neptune, passed away peacefully at 5:30 a.m. May 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 23, 1939, in Neptune, to Lowell "Bud" and Ada Martin Piper. On May 27, 1961, he married Amelia Sue Hertenstein, who died Dec. 22, 1997.
Survivors are four daughters, Julie (Lyle) Albert, St. Marys, Mary (Terry) Wagner, Celina, Jill (Scott) Cisco, St. Marys, and Kelly Rempe, Celina; a son, Chad Piper, New Bremen; 13 grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Molly, Stuart, Cody, Jessica, Kara, Caleb, Joshua, Connor, Derek, Kyle and Tommy; and a very special friend, Mary Windehofer, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Deceased is a brother, Delbert Piper.
He was a 1957 graduate of Celina High School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Parker Hannifin, St. Marys, after 17-plus years, and had worked at Avco New Idea, Coldwater, for 20 years.
He was a member of Neptune Church of God, Celina Moose and Celina American Legion Post 210. He enjoyed hunting, fishing riding his motorcycle, traveling and he loved spending time with his family at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. William E. Maki officiating. Burial is at Neptune Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by St. Marys VFW Post 9289.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
