The Mercer County Sheriff's Department assisted with transportation of an aircraft a short distance along state Route 219 Tuesday morning. St. Marys resident Ken Hunter requested his homebuilt Meyers airplane be towed from Lakefield Airport after trying unsuccessfully to sell it. According to Steve Klosterman, a member of the Lakefield Airport Authority Board, anyone storing an airplane at the airport must carry insurance on it, which was no longer obtained by Hunter.
