Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Carl Adams
Carl H. Adams, 93, Portland, Ind., died June 25, 2013, at Otterbein Retirement Community in St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Celina, to Whitridge and Carrie Andrews Adams. On Sept. 21, 1950, he married Wanda "La Verne" Stump, who died Nov. 1, 2001.
Surviving are a daughter, Deb (Max) Prescott of Ansonia; three grandchildren, Terri (Matt) Cross of Dayton, Joe (Kelly) Prescott of Dayton and Sara (Nathan) Smith of Ansonia; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Dominic, Addison, Ashlyn and Avery; three brothers-in-law, James (Helen) Stump of Fort Recovery, Larry (Mary Jo) Stump of Hudson, Wis., and Steve (Audrey) Stump of Plymouth, Mich. and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Jean Ballard of Portland, Ind., and Phyllis Wolfgang of Bluffton, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Fair; a brother, Lisle Adams; and three brothers-in-law, Robert Stump, Frank Ballard and Sonny Fair.
He was owner and operator of Adams Auto Wrecking in Fort Recovery, and was a retired farmer. He graduated from the former Washington Township High School in Mercer County. He also served on the Fort Recovery Fire Department and was a member of the Jayland Antique Car Club in Portland and the Jay County Rural Youth Club. He also was a member of Fort Recovery United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery, the Rev. Allan Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Ind.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Fort Recovery United Methodist Church, Southwest Mercer County Fire Department, Otterbein Benevolent Care or Partners Appreciation Committee.
