Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Dorothy Schmiesing
Dorothy M. Schmiesing, 89, Celina, passed away at 5:50 p.m. June 30, 2013, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Cranberry Prairie, to Clarence and Helen Reiss Stachler. On May 18, 1946, she married Elmer Schmiesing, who preceded her in death March 30, 2011.
She is survived by two children, Sam (Sue) Schmiesing of Coldwater and Shirley (Ronald) Fisher of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Jeff (Kristy) Schmiesing of Columbus, Sheri (Brian) Knapke of Columbus, Whitney (Jason) Fine of Columbus, Kelli (Kris) Parrish of Columbus and Brad (fiancé Alisha Warthman) Fisher of St. Marys; four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Charlie Schmiesing and Addison and Austin Knapke; a sister, Barbara (James) Leistenschneier of St. Henry; a brother, Richard Stachler of St. Henry; and a sister-in-law, Rita Stachler of St. Henry.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Stachler, and her brother-in-law, James Leistenschneider.
She was a 1942 graduate of St. Henry High School and a homemaker. She worked on the family farm and enjoyed playing cards with friends. Other pastimes included working in flower gardens in the summer and making cookies for Christmas with her grandchildren. She also treasured keeping a daily diary for 70 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Sodality and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John. She was very active with the Mercer County Senior Citizens in Celina.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, the Rev. Kenneth Alt presiding.
Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
