Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Magdalen Niekamp
Magdalen Rose Niekamp, 95, of New Weston, died the afternoon of July 11, 2013, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 8, 1918, at North Star, to Albert and Agnes Barga Henry. On Nov. 26, 1946, she married Elvin "Chic" Niekamp, who died in 1981.
Surviving are a son, Reed (Kathleen) Niekamp of Celina; two siblings, Roger (Alma) Henry and Ann Huber of Dayton; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Henry of St. Henry; two grandchildren, Jamie (Doug) Carlin, Celina, and Steven Niekamp, Manhattan, Kansas; and two great-granddaughters, Natalie and Jenna Carlin.
Deceased are five siblings, Opal (Alfred) Subler, Basil Henry, Mary (Andrew) Bergman, Lawrence (Gertrude) Henry and Bernadine (Linus) Miller; and a great-granddaughter, Alivia Carlin.
A graduate of the former North Star High School, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie, the Rev. David L. Zink officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery, North Star.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
