Rebecca Simon
Rebecca S. Heitkamp Simon, 55, Fort Loramie, passed away July 18, 2013, at her residence of natural causes. She had been seriously ill for three years.
She was born July 27, 1957, in St. Marys, to the late Linus Heitkamp and Patricia Pepiot Heitkamp, who survives in Versailles. On Dec. 16, 1978, Rebecca and Robert "Leo" Simon where married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jason (Valerie) Simon, Versailles, and Jeremy Simon, Fort Loramie; three grandchildren, Xavier, Claire and Laini Simon; two siblings, Betty (Sam) Pohlman, Yorkshire and Bonnie (Michael) Subler, Yorkshire; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Becky (James) Bruening, Penrose, N.C., Peg (Tim) Rhodus, Columbus, Ray Simon, Yorkshire, Ben (Patty) Simon, Versailles, Barb (Steven) Revard, Plain City, and Jim (Pam) Simon, Troy.
Rebecca was a 1975 graduate of Marion Local High School. She also attended the Ohio State Beauty Academy. She had been employed at Crown Equipment. Over the years, she worked in plants at Minster, Fort Loramie and New Bremen. An avid reader, Becky also enjoyed crafting, collecting Longenberger Baskets, Barbie dolls and Precious Moments. She loved entertaining her grandchildren.
Becky was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday and 9:00-10 a.m. Tuesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
