The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Freida Acheson
Freida L. Acheson, 97, Fort Recovery, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices, St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Royal Center, Ind., to James and Catherine (Wolf) Calloway.
Surviving are three sons, James Acheson, Elkhart, Ind., Charles (Shirley) Acheson, Columbia City, Ind., and Larry "Butch" (Marilyn) Acheson, Portland, Ind.; a daughter, Sue (Fred) Krill, Rushville, Ind.; a sister, Maxine Eikelburner, Logansport, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Acheson, Englewood.
Deceased are a son, Ronald "Dutch" Acheson; two grandchildren; a sister, Emma Jean Hartley; a brother, John Calloway; and a daughter-in-law, Kay Acheson.
She was a 1933 graduate of Royal Center High School in Royal Center and had retired as a secretary at the former Hein Insurance Agency in Fort Recovery. She also served as a clerk for Fort Recovery for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Fort Recovery, and Fort Recovery United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fort Recovery United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m.Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, and 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
