Alma Geiger
Alma B. Geiger, 94, Fort Wayne, Ind., and formerly of St. Marys, died at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 17, 2013, at St. Anne Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 4, 1919, in Decatur, Ind., to Richard and Sophia Hockemeyer Thieme. On Sept. 19, 1942, she married Frederick W. Geiger, who died May 5, 1967.
Surviving are her daughter, Jean (Dan) Hoffman, Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Dr. Theresa (Diane Allmandinger) Hoffman, Fort Wayne, Tonya (Steve) Erxleben, Portage, Mich., and Angie Geiger, Lexington, Ky.; and two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Kelli Erxleben.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Don Geiger, and a brother.
She retired from Parker-Hannifin Corp., St. Marys. She had also worked for many years as the secretary at Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys. She was formerly a member of the Women's Business Society, St. Marys. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and also attended St. John's Lutheran Church, Celina, for many years.
Graveside burial rites will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating.
