Getting down and dirty

Nearly 150 students from Coldwater, Fort Recovery, Marion Local, Parkway and St. Henry schools participated in the Mercer County soil judging contest Friday morning at the Dennis and Phyllis Wenning farm west of Coldwater. Students judged four soil pits for urban or rural use and took a written test. The event was sponsored by the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District.
