Kyle J. Bensman
Kyle Bensman, 24, New Bremen, died early Dec. 4, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 2, 1989, in St. Marys, to Nickolas and Diane Holdheide Bensman, who survive in New Bremen.
Also surviving are a brother, Kevin Bensman and Sarah McManus, of Cincinnati; a sister, Kelli Bensman, New Bremen; grandmother, Joan Winner Holdheide, Fort Loramie; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Rose Broering Bensman and Ralph Holdheide.
He was a member of The Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, and was a 2008 graduate of New Bremen High School. In 2012, he graduated from Heidelberg University where he majored in water biology and environmental sciences-chemistry. While attending Heidelberg, he was a member of the Sigma Tau Nu fraternity. He was employed as an Environmental Analyst at Alloway Labs in Lima. His hobbies included oil painting, golfing, fishing and gardening, and he was an avid bike rider.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of the Holy Redeemer, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow in German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, at which time the Rosary will be prayed.
